Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) is a holiday celebrated in central and southern Mexico typically November 1st & 2nd coinciding with the Catholic holiday “All Soul’s” or “All Saint’s Day”. It is traditionally a celebration meant to bring together friends and family members so they may honor the departed and support their spiritual journey through offerings and prayer.
Every year, The Town of Mesilla hosts this celebration in Old Mesilla Plaza filled with music, food, and a candlelight procession. This year’s celebrations will be held October 28th through the 30th with the process scheduled for the 2nd of November at 6pm.
