There’s not much that stands out more in New Mexico than the locally inspired cuisine. The National Fiery Foods & Barbecue Show celebrates this aspect of our culture by providing exhibitors from all over the Southwest the outlet to share, showcase, and sell their products.

The show got its start in 1987 when a gentleman by the name of Dave DeWitt was inspired after visiting the New Mexico Chile Conference. By putting his experience as a show producer to work and being the original editor of the Chile Pepper Magazine, DeWitt and his wife, Mary Jane Wilan, were able to put together a show of 47 exhibitors and drew a crowd of 500 to his first event in 1988. Now, 28 years later, the National Fiery Foods & Barbecue Show now hosts over 200 exhibitors and admits roughly 20,000 attendees.
