Use A Person To Finish Off Your Next Landscape Photograph
Use A Person To Finish Off Your Next Landscape Photograph
Sometimes it’s just not enough to have beautiful skies, amazing scenery, and a great foreground for your photograph.
Every once in a while, you need to put a person into that shot to give it that finishing touch.

On this photograph I had my wife climb to the top of the Mesa and look into the distance. It finished off the photograph.
Sometimes you can plan elaborate photo shoots with a model and they become a big part of the image. You really have to use your imagination to not only set up the shot in a beautiful setting, but to also arrange the model and props to fit in with the composition.
This image was a commercial shoot for a shoe manufacturer, Keen Footwear.

I was able to take the liberty of not only finding the location, but also setting up the model and the composition with the tent, candles and most importantly, the boots, and about how the boots took her to this amazing place.
Next time you’re out with a friend or loved one, have them step into your frame. If you’re alone, set your timer and walk out into your composition and take a selfie in that beautiful setting such as I did on this image.
New Mexico is a beautiful State. Show everyone that you’re a part of it.
