3 Places to Be on New Year’s Eve
It’s almost time to say goodbye to the old year and welcome the new. Whether you spend New Year’s Eve watching fireworks or dancing the night away, there’s no wrong way to celebrate! But if you’re looking for somewhere to ring in the New Year, here are three great places to be on New Year’s Eve.
1. Red River’s Old Fashioned New Year’s Eve in Taos.
The Old Fashioned New Year’s Eve celebration at Red River is one of the town’s biggest events and something the entire family can enjoy together. A fun time is guaranteed for every age group.
The celebrations begin on December 30th with the annual Torchlight Parade which is followed by a spectacular fireworks display. On the 31st, the Historic Red River Community House hosts the Old Fashioned New Year’s Eve Party with pizza, music, and games for everyone.
The countdown ball drops at midnight eastern time which is 10 pm in New Mexico, so even the children can participate in the celebrations before bedtime. For the adults, there are plenty of local bars in Red River where you can toast to the New Year with champagne.
2. Rio Bravo Brewing Co’s Brew Year’s Eve in Albuquerque.
Rio Bravo Brewing Co’s Brew Year’s Eve is the perfect place for beer lovers to ring in the new year. The evening will commence at 7 pm with a New Year’s Eve dinner in the Barrel Room. Dinner will include a four-course meal, with each course accompanied by a different craft beer.
The menu includes blood orange braised short ribs and pork tenderloin with balsamic cherry chutney, just to name a couple of delicious entres. The in-house craft beers include Kolsch, Cherry on Brett, and Blueberry Mint Gose. This party goes on to 1:30 am, with Chris Dracula and Funk of the West entertaining the crowd till 12:30 am.
The dress code is black and white, and you’ll need to buy tickets to go.
3. New Year’s Eve Celebration on the Plaza in Santa Fe.
Santa Fe’s annual New Year’s Eve Celebration at the Historic Santa Fe Plaza, is the ideal location to celebrate with family and friends. With bonfires, hot chocolate, several food trucks, and live music played by local bands, every guest is sure to have a good time. There’s also an exciting New Year’s surprise planned at the stroke of midnight.
The festivities begin at 9:00 pm and city bus service will be available until 12:30 am. If you’re looking for an alcohol-free, calm, relaxed New Year’s Eve celebration, this is the place to be!
