The Red Rock Balloon Rally
The Red Rock Balloon Rally is the second largest balloon event in the world with one of the world’s most breathtaking views. The event began in 1970 with a small group of people who appreciated the unique set of challenges presented by piloting a hot air balloon over the incredible red cliffs, canyons, and rock formations of Red Rock State Park.
Today, the event includes over 200 hot air balloons, and participation is by invitation only. The invited pilots will have the honor and opportunity to pilot their balloons over the fascinating landscape. The Red Rock Balloon Rally has received numerous awards, including “Best Balloon Event in The West” by Ballooning Magazine; “Most Outstanding Event” by the New Mexico Tourism Association; and “Outstanding Community Event” by the Gallup Chamber of Commerce.
